PORSCHE 911 BESPOKE RESTORATION

Porsche 911 bespoke restoration

This Porsche 911 was brought to Classic Hangar by a dedicated Porsche collector and track-day enthusiast. The brief was to transform the car into a capable classic track machine while retaining full usability on the road.

For the body restoration, the shell was stripped back to bare metal. This revealed poorly repaired damage to the left-hand rear quarter panel, where filler had been used to disguise the issue. The affected area was cut out, a new section was fabricated and professionally welded in, and no further structural issues were found. The exterior was then refinished in Mild Seven Blue.

The bespoke body modifications included replacing the front bumper with a lightweight version featuring brake-cooling duct inlets, fitting a lightweight front bonnet, installing lightweight doors, and replacing the rear engine cover with a lightweight unit. A full roll cage was also fabricated and welded into the chassis to enhance rigidity and track performance.

Mechanical upgrades were focused on enhancing drivability while retaining the original character of the engine. The owner chose to keep the engine in standard specification, but with new throttle bodies controlled by a bespoke ECU setup. A custom exhaust system was installed, along with a bespoke high-pressure fuel system featuring a fuel collector. A big-brake upgrade was fitted to the front, complemented by a bespoke pedal box incorporating an adjustable brake-bias system.

Interior modifications included a full removal of the original trim, installation of a race-spec steering wheel, and race-spec seats equipped with four-point harnesses. The dashboard dials were colour-coded to the exterior finish, completing the track-focused aesthetic.
